Below are Swing Trade Set-Ups Currently On Watch $ROKU, $ETSY, $MCD, $QQQ, $VIX, $X, $TEUM, $ARWR, $AU, $GC_F…

Earnings Season Swing Trade Positions Reporting Special Notes:

This report was written earlier in premarket but due to internet work crew the distribution was delayed until now.

Aug 22 – On Aug 19 we entered $QQQ long in low 187s, it hit 189.23 yesterday and we have a 197s price target in to Sept 9 week. On the 16th we added to the Gold short (2nd position) 1512.29 and it is trading at time of writing 1497.90. On August 12 we entered long $OSTK and got quickly stopped for a 4% loss on a starter position on some CEO news that sent the stock tumbling, one of our few losses lately. The $TEUM trade went well 2.60 – 3.60 and we’re looking at other entries soon. $MRO swing trade set-up has been flat thus far (post alert). The VIX time cycle has been spot on and we’ll be looking for longs in to the week of Sept 9 in advance of Oct 21 week time cycle peak. The $AU and $ARWR trades were / are outstanding performers and we continue to work with / have on watch because both should be considerable trades again soon. $AU long on other side of Sept 9 going in to Oct 21 and $ARWR adds to long position at key support areas. $DXY we are still watching for a short cycle, $SPY we didn’t long in to Sept 9 and chose $QQQ instead, $BTC we are watching for a possible bullish run on the other side of Sept 9 week. Other considerations are below.

Over the next few weeks the number of set ups to be sent out is expected to increase because of the Sept 9 and Oct 21 time cycle inflections nearing.

July 31 – We entered a new swing trade yesterday in TESLA that is doing excellent, closed the AMD swing trade prior to earnings which was a great call because it lost a lot of value after earnings were posted after market, are trading the Crude Oil move that seen a huge gain after the swing trade alert was issued and today we look at National Oilwell Varco, Trex and Chegg after they had larger than normal earnings price moves. 

We’re also working on time cycle trades for SPY, VIX, Gold, Silver, DXY, BTC and more than we will report on soon.

July 22 – Below are some equities in focus this week with earnings, the follow- up reports on deck deal with other earnings focus equities and time cycles for the indices and specific instruments we focus on (GOLD, SILVER, VIX, SPY, OIL, US DOLLAR, BITCOIN).

Per recent;

Over the coming days we will be re-visiting all recent swing trade set-ups, alerts and trades in progress to reconcile the trades in advance of earnings and prepare for the new on other side of each new set up from earnings reports. This will involve a significant number of posts, trade alerts, mid day reviews in the trading room and videos that our members will receive a copy of.

Executing your swing trading strategy with our charting reports and live alerts involves using the key support and resistance areas of the charting, time cycle peaks, trajectory of trade and conventional indicators such as MACD cross-over and Moving Averages.

Alerts are not always issued at each add or trim to positions because that is simply not possible so you do have to manage your trade.

In many instances a clear swing trade strategy is laid out in the newsletter and/or videos so that you can manage the swing trade according to your risk threshold and account size.

At this point my bias is not in stone so at channel resistance and channel support I will look at the price relative to timing and make a decision.

Mid Day chart trading set-ups April 24 (summary).

You may or may not know, but the market sold off fairly heavy yesterday. Below is a summary of the mid day video review of the chart set-ups we are following. Also there are links below of other recent videos.

$SPY – Dumped April 2, modeled in advance, we entered in drop, trimmed at resistance and added over all the way up. 262.67 267.99 major buy sell pivots. Trade resting per my alert last week. 262.27 April 27 bearish target in play. Other targets listed on video.

GOLD $GC_F $GLD – Started long hedge position 1352.86 May 4 price target, 1385.86, 1315.05 1277.09 bearish scenario targets same date May 4.

$GDX Gold Miners – Alert went out last night of support intra and it has bounced, resistance 23.14 22.97 22.80 22.65 June 4 time cycle targets 23.14 likely 21.07 bearish and 25.14 bullish 27.31 most bullish scenario.

Bitcoin $BTC – Swing trading model – How we knew the turn was in play, we alerted buy side and hit it near perfect. Trim in to resistance areas and add above. 13842.00 May 21 Bullish Target, 9891.90 moderately bullish, 5871.60 bearish. New up channel shown. On daytrading model resistance 9380.00 9878.90 April 28 price target.

$GOOGL – we nailed wash-out snap back and is now testing 200 MA support. 9855.00 support. 11035.00 price target July 2 bullish scenario.

$ATOS – Resistance pivot (primary) 5.38.

$SNAP over 15.75 targets 16.50.

$EVLV – in to the 200 MA and backed of on the daytrade.

$HEAR – charting has some structure. Target 17.80 200 MA weekly chart on bull side move.

$CHEK – Off halt wanted over 100 MA to 200 MA and left for coffee and boom it hit while I was away. Alerted in 8s and target on daytrade move 13s. Can’t get them all.

$MARA over 50 MA 1.75 targets 2.25 and over that 2.80 price target. Long term chart is junk.

$PRTA – traded on daytrade flat, wash-out snap – back trade, nailed the turn and then it came off. Will be watching very close the days going forward.

$ZDGE – Over 4.00 long side trade. I like the structure of the chart.

$TSLA – Caught this on the wash out snap back trade. 279.80 support really important area. 381.00 Nov 15 2018 price target.

$FB – Another wash-out snap back that went really well. Price targets hitting and structure of model has been perfect. Now came off after hit mid quad resistance.

Even though my holds are small in size I would like to start focusing on trading out of some of these, if not all. With the current downdraft in market I may not be able to get out of these for a while – VERY SMALL part of my portfolio now – I am 95% or more cash.

All small to mid size holds in this order according to sizing – $ONTX, $DUST, $XOM, $NE, $ASM, $SSH, $LGCY, $TRCH, $ESEA, $MGTI.

Per recent;

$DUST I will close for a loss if Gold holds 1260 – sucks, but it was a relatively small position (to portfolio size) but I didn’t follow the golden rule… when a trade goes against your plan cut fast and I didn’t so I will likely pay the price. And I guess what has become the second golden rule… listen to the algos… they haven’t been wrong yet – so yes, I didn’t listen to my own invention ROSIE the Gold Algo (give Rosie a little plug there she deserves it lol). Embarrassing, especially because ROSIE nailed the bottom many weeks in advance of the bottom – all I had to do was listen and boom new house. Sad.

Market Outlook / Trading Plan:

Swing trades on watch for me again (in addition to our algorithm models because everything is either at resistance or suport) today (some are same as from our swing trading platform side) are $BABA, $VRX, $NFLX, $WYNN, $XME, $URRE, $TAN, $TWLO, $GSIT, $ABX and considering adding $LIT to the list. Also recently added to watch $CEW, $MYL, $TZA, $TREE and today added are $NVDA, $SOXS, $KBH, $BCOR. Also on OTC side new are $USRM, $PLSB, $LIGA and $ASCK.

I do trade morning momo stocks, but I do avoid risk – so often I avoid the first 30 minutes (gap and go) and trade momentum stocks later in the day after the wash-out looking for a snap-back. In play today in chat room; $ESPR, $HTBX, $PTIE, $NAK, $NG_F, $UGAZ, $GC_F, $JNUG, $DUST

$PULM was a decent runner on the day but I didn’t trade it because we were in $ESPR and watching the market movements. Some were cleaning up there risk and those type of things.

Our traders continue to do well with Natural Gas on the turn with $UGAZ and the Gold turn in $JNUG. I am still sitting in a small $DUST position that I will either add to or pivot to long Gold or miner’s in $JNUG or $NUGT if Gold confirms to upside – but it has been mostly sideways the last few months and Gold is struggling with the resistance identified by our algo some weeks back (long before Gold was anywhere near where it is).

$NAK is also on a turn here and our room has been all over it.

My morning momentum play was in $EPSR and it was a near perfectly executed trade. The video explains the chart indicators I use that got me out of the trade right on time very near the top – and there is video for it below. I got in because the market was weak but $ESPR had run the day before aggressively and in premarket it was aggressive coming in to the open. So I entered and sent an alert to our members right before open and added a few times and exited right before it turned back down. Awesome momentum trade – test book.

Premarket was all about: $ESPR, $HTBX, $PTIE

$ESPR was up about 7% but it wasn’t hitting a lot of the scanners in social etc but I was watching it because it ran the day before of course.

$PTIE was up 66% premarket so this and $HTBX were where most trader’s were focused when I looked around (we have most rooms on our monitors and social etc).

$HTBX was up 23% premarket on news also.

Through the evening and early morning in the algo lab I was tweeting a storm of tweets about how the market looked bearish and had been for a few days and sure enough Tuesday was the day. Nailed it to the day but we did know it was coming. Our $SPY algo nailed the interim top AGAIN and we were sending messages in our reporting to members on different services (even on these post market trading results posts). So we were more than ready.

The interesting thing I find about our algorithmic model charting is that they always keep us on top of not just trading ranges and the like but they have all been hitting the important turns like our Gold algo hitting the top last year and the most recent bottom turn, our dollar algo is all over it and our SPY algo had us ready for this top and on and on.Or even our oil algo, always nailing it. It has added an element to my trading that I couldn’t do without – becoming used to it for sure when originally I struggled with it (like anyone would I suppose).

The markets to me look toppy (as I’ve noticed previous). So last weekend we produced some simple swing charting that keeps me level when looking at the markets (examples below). Simple charting I find grounds you to simple trades which in turn keeps you profitable in toppy or sideways markets. So I find the practice crucial even though our algorithmic modeling can cut up a chart on any time-frame and I can trade scalping like nobody’s business with them… but I have businesses etc and I can’t be a minute by minute trader (right now anyway). So keeping it simple helps me and many on our swing trading side of the platform really appreciate the simple view because they have day jobs or businesses etc.

Also, times are Central Mountain below (we’re working on the fix now), so for New York ET time add two hours to all times. Also, most days at 9:30 ET market open there is moderator live broadcast explaining trades and at times during the day there is also live broadcast market updates and trade set-up explanations (so you have to scroll through video feed to market open etc to catch live broadcast portions – in future we will note in in transcript when we are on the mic so viewers can correlate time with transcript with video feed when reviewing trades). 

Important note: There are a few pieces of the transcript missing from Tuesday. We’re learning that when there’s an interruption in service that we have to restart the room and reset transcripts and it is a bit cumbersome so we are thinking of trying a different service next week. We’ll get on the right platform and we’ll get the transcripts etc sorted.

There is a morning momentum trade that I did right before open and during open that has live voice broadcast that early traders would likely benefit from (with additional comments earlier in this post). I will try and get a detailed trade explanation video done (we’re in studio for 3 days this weekend doing nothing but educational videos – yes we booked 3 days wow).

Market Outlook:

Lots of news with the Chinese Yuan overnight and it looks like retail numbers from the Christmas season are going to disappoint!

Early in 2017 I will be watching very closely bonds, $USDJPY, markets in general for direction (of course there are hundreds of variables).

Generally speaking I am looking for some volatility between now and late January. My instinct tells me that even if there is some downdraft in the markets that the Trump train will sweep them up in positive momentum at some point.

Metals, energy and financials are three areas I am looking to for 2017 for trading margin – with bio in fourth place on my list. And per previous we’re expecting some action in bonds to the upside a high probability.

As a trader, it is the margin / volatility I am focused toward and getting on the right side of a market / sector turn and scaling in to that.

All algos (Oil, SPY, Gold, Silver, Dollar, VIX) have hit their targets now (long term since July and short term) so we are running calculation targets for all six algos for all time charting time-frames and expect these reports to start rolling out first week of January 2017.

You will notice the algorithmic modelling has been undeniably accurate with many time-frames (intra-day, weeks and months out) so I myself have learned to respect their math (they have taken me from a 60% hit rate to 80% in my trading – all publicly posted live trades).

I do trade morning momo stocks, but I do avoid risk – so often I avoid the first 30 minutes (gap and go) and trade momentum stocks later in the day after the wash-out looking for a snap-back. Just prior to open and shortly after open I post momentum stocks to the trade chat room (and Twitter and Stocktwits if I have time).

Watching, watching, watching. $SPY is still having difficulty with the resistance our algo alerted weeks back prior to Fed speak.

The S&P did exactly what we thought it would last year.

We thought Trump would win and that would cause a rally and that did occur. We also expected some rest before EOY and our algorithm called that to the day and almost penny.

Here forward is more difficult to predict – we are going to assess price action as the year turns over and the Trump era unfolds.

I wouldn’t rule out a sell off and I wouldn’t rule out a rally. I think they are both likely in 2017. We just want to catch the inflection right.

Right now I am trading $XIV instead of $SPXL or $SPXS. I do this because we are in a trend of crushed volatility. Now, when that changes and volatility starts to rise again (even if $SPY is rising at the same time) then I’ll flip over to trading $SPXL and $SPXS instead of $XIV.

We are watching $USD/JPY close of course. We are also watching the Mexico Peso and the Russian markets – both could see significant lift early 2017.

Watching $USDJPY now close for a top. Symmetry is in play on the chart, there is some divergence (although not broke) and metals are starting to front-run.

BE VERY CAREFUL LISTENING TO THE $USD/JPY bears – they have been feeding misery to followers for many weeks – the chart is not broke – price is currently at support and there could easily be another leg up – nobody knows but the trend is your friend!

As you may know, we called the bottom (if it is) almost to the penny (months in advance) and recently Gold and miners did get lift (which we expected / called). Between now and Jan 20 anything is possible.

It would be most logical that miners would rally and Gold may also.

But you need to remember that Trump has surprised everyone since he started campaigning and a significant Trump rally in the markets cannot be ruled out. If that happens, Gold will obviously most likely see new lows to between 800 – 1000.

So be ready, and lets catch the inflection. I was expecting on last run in USDJPY so be cautious.

So we have started to see some action in Gold and Miners so it these are on high watch with me right now.

I am waiting for the trend reversal. We are very close to the price target at the bottom of that quadrant at 1133.00 ish. The initial wide frame target Rosie the algo nailed but there has been a wait and see for a reversal because of one more possible leg down. Getting very close IMO.

I haven’t started to take trades yet because I am waiting for “price – trigger – trade” set-ups. I will start chewing around the edges of stocks like $NUGT and $GLD likely. The idea is to get on the right side of the trade and trend.

Free scanners to find momentum stocks that you can easily review charts of for indicators that bring probability of your trade being successful up considerably. These are not useful for first 30 minute market open gap and go type plays (you need a good momentum scanner, level 2, and best to have hot-keys for the first 30 mins of gap and go trading)… but are very useful for intra day scalping and swing trading (start with trending stocks and then look at indicators intra for simple set-ups – study scan study scan study scan).

$SPY: The S&P 500 Algorithm is starting to fire on all cylinders too (which is good – its 5th in development process so its newer than others).

Well, we have Fed talk Wednesday so yes the market may oompff a bit – but I expect it to run again until near Christmas or even closer to Preident Elect Donald Trump’s power transition.

I followed up with a warning in the member’s premarket with specific area of challenge in $SPY chart at 227.80.

Price action on $SPY struggled with that area all day and remained a challenge overnight, Wed Fed day challenged price action and overnght it is still struggling BUT THE CHART IS NOT BROKE and until otherwise our algo predicts are in play (new reports processing and available within a day or three).

And our $VIX algo been hitting it on intra calls too which is awesome to see.

Gold – $GLD $GDX $GDXJ $NUGT $DUST $JNUG $JDST $GC_F

Per yesterday:

Our Gold and Silver algorithms have said wait on a buy because of the 90% chance of Gold going to lower quadrant (you’d have to see our Gold algo Twitter to get the whole story – but the calls have been in place for months while many were bullish on Gold prior to election in Summer and Fall 2016)… anyway so Gold did deflate more as called – so yes, Gold and Silver algos hitting perfect too. These are exact price calls BTW. And the $DXY algo has been nailing it.

So our Gold price target of 1163 from months back has hit and overnight it got down to 1151 which puts Gold very close to the 90% probability of a hit to bottom of quadrant from @RosietheAlgo with posts going way back.

So that leaves our inaugural algo EPIC!

From yesterday:

Epic the Oil Algo calls price and time for every Tuesday at 4:30, Wednesday at 10:30 and Friday at 1:00 (and much more than those calls) the week prior in his newsletter oil reports the week prior so that traders can plan their trades etc. Anyway… the Tuesday at 4:30 price and time target zone was hit yet once again! He’s firing at 93.3% call win rate (all published in advance like all over our algos).

And what do you know! Wednesday EPIC the Oil Algo HIT THE PRICE PREDICT TARGET TO THE EXACT CENT AT THE EXACT SECOND OF THE PREDICTION NINE DAYS PRIOR!

So were weren’t sure which target was going to hit – funny thing is primary target hit right to the cent at the second of the call and the secondary target hit about 2 seconds later right to the exact cent also. What a day for EPIC. Below is a shot of when price was on its way to targets and above is price of crude hitting both called targets within seconds of each other.

I only took a couple long positions in my swing account on $UWT and held overnight.

So the room was really quiet because of the Fed speak.
