Intro:

Compound Trading is a trading group active in day trading, swing trading and algorithmic model charting (black box).

Time stamped entries (in permanent archive) copied to this blog are direct live log chat from chat trade room as they occurred (random chat not applicable is deleted from transcript below but raw video footage is as it occurred – uncut). Chat trade room is recorded daily for trade archive (embedded below and available on our YouTube channel).

In addition to chat, this trade-room has live voice broadcast (that covers in detail what indicators we are looking for in and out off each trade).

Typically the lead trader is on mic and sharing charting pre-market right before open (9:00 AM ET), at market open (9:30 ET), for chart trade set-up and swing trading review during lunch hour (12:00 ET), during webinars (EIA Wed 10:00 and upcoming other regular webinars for SPY, Gold, Silver, VIX, and USD also – representing our algorithms). The trading room has in addition to live broadcast live chart screen sharing right from our monitors to yours. At times guest traders and associate traders will screen share charting and/or voice broadcast.

My day was about the EIA report and charting around EPIC the Algo etc (see EIA report video) a few oil trades (the first a 1/10 size I had a small paper cut and then I scaled in to 5/10 sizing on the wash-out snap back of crude oil #CL trade I am still in).

My day was also about calling out two of the largest movers – $SHWI on the OTC side and $CVNA – both of which I did not execute (man it gets busy running a room etc – oh well) BUT MANY of our traders caught it – in after market conversations I know at minimum Market Maven Lenny Sandra and a few others did.

Flash G our resident father of swing is continuing to do well in 2017, Maven bought a new car and Quarry Rock, Quadzilla (Mat), Hedge Hog (Nicholas) and others are doing great. Some great calls coming from these traders.

What many of the newer traders find in our room fairly early on is they are among market giants (we have six or seven in here that are world class traders) and this dynamic has been fun and fulfilling for me. Nice to see folks go from misery when they first come in and a month or two later they’re market masters:):):) Well, at least trading green consistently!

And at mid day review it was a different format as I was reviewing swing trades I was thinking of closing out for my quarter – as usual the swing trading platform and my trades therein are rocking. And the algo trades… couldn’t be better – we’re trying to get the time to release EPIC’s results – we just haven’t had a moment to get a proper blog post done that explains how EPIC trades specifically (to be included with PL results etc).

2017-06-06 9:26 mat Nak has had many issues in the past. If you want something that **usually** follows the price of gold look at GDX for majors or GDXJ for miners. If you overlay a 5 year for both and physical gold you will see some divergent periods. This spring especially has been screwy with rebalancing issues and miners lagging for the most part

If you are new to our trading service you should review recent blog posts, the Compound Trading YouTube Channel and at minimum our algorithm Twitter feeds because they do tell a story in terms of the market and how the inflections of the market determine our day to day trading. Free scanners to find momentum stocks that you can easily review charts of for indicators that bring probability of your trade being successful up considerably. These are not useful for first 30 minute market open gap and go type plays (you need a good momentum scanner, level 2, and best to have hot-keys for the first 30 mins of gap and go trading)… but are very useful for intra day scalping and swing trading (start with trending stocks and then look at indicators intra for simple set-ups – study scan study scan study scan).

$LOXO, $EVI, $CLSN, $NAKD were big momos that members got in today’s session (I learned about in after market discussions), $CLSN I got a small win in for just over 300.00 and lost 80.00 in $VHC so I was up only 220.00 on momos on the day but my swings are continuing to bank hard as are the algorithm trades (PL released in next few days in advance of 24 hour oil trading room). The $SPY and OIL algos are hitting their targets etc and the others are doing well also. So all in all things are rolling along well. Been a good year.

My apologies our post market trading results last two weeks have been sporadically posted but that will change now as our oil room prep is ready.

I was delayed on a flight due to storm so I didn’t get a premarket done (well 5 mins I guess).

I got a mid day scalp on $GLBS that set up perfectly (the video of the live trade is in the mid day report video), $UVXY I took at LOD long 2000 shares before close (I don’t feel great about it right now), the $UWT trade I caught the low of day of course because of my buddy EPIC the OIL Algo and $LIGA was up on the day one of my holds.

So over all it was a great day. The markets were slow but technical set-ups keep you profitable if you learn them and apply them.

Also, the algorithm trading component of our platform killed it today (we will be releasing quarterly results soon) and the swing trades from the swing trading side crushed it also.

$ETRM Halt – News Pending. Halt time: 06:54:59.

$ETRM premarket up 27.89% trading 5.87.

$HMNY premarket up 78%

Market Day, Chat Room Trades and Personal Trades:

$ETRM, $X, $UWT, $HMNY, $USOIL, $WTIC – Red day. Down 220.00 on the day.

Took a premarket trade in $ETRM that worked out well. 5.67 long and closed 5.91 at 1000 shares. But then I blew it at open.

Took an early momentum trade in $ETRM.. Long 6.27 Closed 5.66 1000 shares for a 600.00 loss! Ugh. Lesson 1 – control losses! Lesson 2 – go back to lesson 1!!! Bad bad. Anyway room video below has it live. As soon as the opener play failed VWAP I should have cut for a tiny loss. Beginner mistake. Really dumb.

Took a trade too late in $X and it was flat. We had it set up perfect and I executed way late – that is on video below also.

And $UWT I was in at 19.08 and out at 19.187 for tiny win but I wasn’t comfortable holding through 4:30 PM time cycle.

And $HMNY was the big momentum play for members in the room among others – the room did well again. Very proud of our group.

Update: We are on schedule here and the complete model will be assembled his weekend and released Sunday night for next week. Then I think Gold is next (it will take less than two weeks to publish it in whole as the math is complete on it also. Update: We are on schedule here and the complete model will be assembled his weekend and released Sunday night for next week. Then I think Gold is next (it will take less than two weeks to publish it in whole as the math is complete on it also. Actually the math is complete and tested on five of six of the algorithms so they will all be published in whole very shortly now). $SPY will be getting it’s own 24 hour trading room also – not sure when, but $SPY and Gold will get their own 24 hour trading rooms like EPIC sometime before end of 2017.

Update: I received a lot of great feedback on our algorithmic modeling from people that seen the EPIC the Oil Algo charting for the first time Wednesday. I am used to it from our regular members but it was refreshing in a way to see the reaction that “newbies” had to the model. Yup, Epic is Epic. Anyway, feedback was awesome and we appreciate that! Also, the trading room raw footage below will have the webinar in it that occurred between 12 – 1 ET Wednesday – Sartaj will be posting the webinar only portion at come point on YouTube but he’s been very busy so I’m not sure when I guess is my point. I didn’t take a morning momentum trade, then we did the mid day review and the theme was hosted by EPIC the Oil Algo (went very well btw) and then I got caught up in conference calls and meetings for the afternoon. It is looking like more and more as our platform grows up that my afternoons may be more and more about managing the business and not as much in the trade room. Yet to be seen as I enjoy trading so much more of course:) Oh and on the swing trading side I had a tonne of babysitting there to do with our positions. 

And the markets $SPY and friends got wacked! Wow our $SPY algorithm was so spot on with that upper resistance area. Invaluable.

Last 3 or 4 opens have been tough for momos… I thought maybe just maybe it was me… but even the market open momos knew something.

Got a decent momentum play first thing in the morning on $IDXG for about a 600.00 win and then later played it again only to have an intra-day 8-K offering slam it. So I was red on day by about 1200.00. One of my bigger losses on year so far. I got so used to winning I forgot what it was like to take a loss. Now, on my accounts very small relative but still sucks. A good reminder to always set stops, even on smaller entries. But this does highlight the need to keep your risk management and sizing in check.

The opening video today with the $IDXG momentum trade was an awesome training / learn how-to trade stocks type video on technical set-ups and indicators on gap and go momentum stocks for new and even some more advanced traders (I had a few message me about it and I was surprised it was valuable for them too).
