Below are Swing Trade Set-Ups Currently On Watch, This is Part 6B; $INS, $MDB, $MGI, $TERP, $HD, $ROKU, $ETSY, $MCD, $QQQ, $VIX, $X, $TEUM, $ARWR, $AU, $GC_F…

Earnings Season Swing Trade Positions Reporting Special Notes:

Per recent;

Aug 22 – On Aug 19 we entered $QQQ long in low 187s, it hit 189.23 yesterday and we have a 197s price target in to Sept 9 week. On the 16th we added to the Gold short (2nd position) 1512.29 and it is trading at time of writing 1497.90. On August 12 we entered long $OSTK and got quickly stopped for a 4% loss on a starter position on some CEO news that sent the stock tumbling, one of our few losses lately. The $TEUM trade went well 2.60 – 3.60 and we’re looking at other entries soon. $MRO swing trade set-up has been flat thus far (post alert). The VIX time cycle has been spot on and we’ll be looking for longs in to the week of Sept 9 in advance of Oct 21 week time cycle peak. The $AU and $ARWR trades were / are outstanding performers and we continue to work with / have on watch because both should be considerable trades again soon. $AU long on other side of Sept 9 going in to Oct 21 and $ARWR adds to long position at key support areas. $DXY we are still watching for a short cycle, $SPY we didn’t long in to Sept 9 and chose $QQQ instead, $BTC we are watching for a possible bullish run on the other side of Sept 9 week. Other considerations are below.

Over the next few weeks the number of set ups to be sent out is expected to increase because of the Sept 9 and Oct 21 time cycle inflections nearing.

July 31 – We entered a new swing trade yesterday in TESLA that is doing excellent, closed the AMD swing trade prior to earnings which was a great call because it lost a lot of value after earnings were posted after market, are trading the Crude Oil move that seen a huge gain after the swing trade alert was issued and today we look at National Oilwell Varco, Trex and Chegg after they had larger than normal earnings price moves. 

We’re also working on time cycle trades for SPY, VIX, Gold, Silver, DXY, BTC and more than we will report on soon.

July 22 – Below are some equities in focus this week with earnings, the follow- up reports on deck deal with other earnings focus equities and time cycles for the indices and specific instruments we focus on (GOLD, SILVER, VIX, SPY, OIL, US DOLLAR, BITCOIN).

Per recent;

Over the coming days we will be re-visiting all recent swing trade set-ups, alerts and trades in progress to reconcile the trades in advance of earnings and prepare for the new on other side of each new set up from earnings reports. This will involve a significant number of posts, trade alerts, mid day reviews in the trading room and videos that our members will receive a copy of.

Executing your swing trading strategy with our charting reports and live alerts involves using the key support and resistance areas of the charting, time cycle peaks, trajectory of trade and conventional indicators such as MACD cross-over and Moving Averages.

Alerts are not always issued at each add or trim to positions because that is simply not possible so you do have to manage your trade.

In many instances a clear swing trade strategy is laid out in the newsletter and/or videos so that you can manage the swing trade according to your risk threshold and account size.

Crude Oil (FX USOIL WTI, $CL_F, $WTI)

May 6 – Falling wedge on weekly trending channel #oil #OOTT $USOIL $WTI $USO $UWT $DWT #chart.

Crude oil is on watch for a new channel move down or a snap back trade out of that falling wedge and continuation of the channel. Good swing trade when it confirms. You can use UWT or DWT on the regular equity markets to trade an oil swing.

The set up is simple in theory, wait for a pattern to emerge either in uptrending channel or new down trend channel and take your positions on the outside of the channel.

Bitcoin (BTC, XBT)

May 6 – Bitcoin is trading 5772.00 intra-day, up from our long swing trad entries at 3449.50. Holding and will start adds soon. New charting on the way as we (if we) breach 6000.00.

There is no particular trade plan here until over 6000.00, the idea was to build a position and then start trading the ebb and flow of the position as it proved out. We’re near now.

April 22 – Bitcoin is trading 5282.80 intra-day, up from our entries starting at 3449.50. Holding for now and will likely start charting in more detail as it develops structure and alerting positioning more frequently. For now watching the structure assemble per below (previous report).

April 9, 2019 – The Jan 30, 2019 trade alert for Bitcoin is now proving out well…

Per March 5 Report, “the model has done really well, we will be updating the model soon, 175.66 price target March 7 is in play on the 4 hour chart, Maven is in this swing trade and doing well with it. It has been a very successful swing trading structure for us many times in past”.

For now I will leave this one alone considering the mosque attacks. A structured trade just isn’t possible at this point, I will re-look at it the near future.

Alibaba (BABA) –

May 7 – Trading 188s I will likely take the remaining trade off in advance of earnings in eight days. This has been a very profitable trade and will look to possibly trading again after earnings.

April 22 – Trading 186.94 with top of trading box on chart 194s and earnings in 23 days it seems time to trim is prudent.

Microsoft (MSFT) –

May 6 – MSFT was a missed trade, waiting until next earnings season now.

April 22 – With earnings in two days I will re look at the chart structure post earnings.

April 9, 2019 – I didn’t take the trade and am not looking at a trade in MSFT this round. Will revisit the charting next cycle.

Per March 5 Report, “per my previous guidance I am not really exited about it but I am watching for a potential break out trade in Microsoft so at this point it is only on watch”.

This stock has done really well, but I missed taking the trade, so I won’t review the chart at this time.

Eagle Materials (EXP) –

May 7 – Trading 90.47 Eagle Materials has earnings in 8 days, will consider a position thereafter.

April 22 – Trading 89.90 near key resistance with earnings in 3 weeks I will watch price action post earnings.

April 9, 2019 – Here also I didn’t take the trade and am not looking at a trade in EXP this round. Will revisit the charting next cycle.

Per March 5 Report, “was looking for a trade entry long trigger in the support line reviewed on the video, price got away on me before I took the trade, I was trying to get a too perfect entry. Support and resistance reviewed on the video.

I missed my execution on this one so I won’t review the chart set-up at this time.

APPLE (AAPL) –

May 7 – chart is extended to upside, will look at a long at next pullback.

April 22 – I’m not really excited about Apple’s stock at this point, however, I will watch price action very close post earnings for a possible short term swing trade considering how structured this simple model has been to price movement.

April 22 – Bitcoin is trading 5282.80 intra-day, up from our entries starting at 3449.50. Holding for now and will likely start charting in more detail as it develops structure and alerting positioning more frequently. For now watching the structure assemble per below (previous report).

April 22 – At this point I’m not as excited about this swing trade in $NBEV. I may close the position soon. The chart structure is not acting as well as I had hoped. It closed 5.27 on Friday and my starter positioning was 5.40s – .60s.

Anadarko Petroleum (APC) –

April 22 – Anadarko was a great swing trade with the buy out. It certainly transpired faster than expected. We closed the trade at 60.61 from a 47.19 entry long. It closed 64.14 on Friday and looks like it will easily get to our original price target in the 76s. I am not considering an immediate position but with earnings coming up in ten days I am watching very close.

April 22 – XOM is trading 81.50 in premarket, the set up for this swing trade is so structured (very clear support and resistance) that there is no need for me to alert this trade in more detail until there is significant change. The trajectory to the price target is near perfect at this point. Really good swing trade.

April 22 – Facebook reports earnings in two days, I will wait for price action post earnings. We have always done well swing trading Facebook and the model we use is quite predictable, so I expect a position after they report.

Same as Twitter, I am not considering a trade in Facebook but may do so on the next reporting round.

Per March 5 Report, “the model has done really well, we will be updating the model soon, 175.66 price target March 7 is in play on the 4 hour chart, Maven is in this swing trade and doing well with it. It has been a very successful swing trading structure for us many times in past”.

For now I will leave this one alone considering the mosque attacks. A structured trade just isn’t possible at this point, I will re-look at it the near future.

BP –

April 9, 2019 – I didn’t take the trade and am not looking at a trade in MSFT this round. Will revisit the charting next cycle.

Per March 5 Report, “per my previous guidance I am not really exited about it but I am watching for a potential break out trade in Microsoft so at this point it is only on watch”.

This stock has done really well, but I missed taking the trade, so I won’t review the chart at this time.

Eagle Materials (EXP) –

April 22 – Trading 89.90 near key resistance with earnings in 3 weeks I will watch price action post earnings. 

April 9, 2019 – Here also I didn’t take the trade and am not looking at a trade in EXP this round. Will revisit the charting next cycle.

TERRAFORM POWER (TERP) How to trade TerraForm Power earnings and swing trade it to next time cycle. #swingtrading $TERP #earnings

The trade set-up in TerraForm is hard to ignore. For a structured swing trade / investment, this one is hard to beat (on other side of earnings) in my opinion. Sure, it may not be the return some traders are looking for, but if it plays like the chart structure is indicating, there’s a 50% or better upside over the next two years and much of that move could be on the other side of this coming earnings or the next.

To trade it, I will wait for earnings. I won’t wait long however. The move is likely to see a decent return in the early time-frame and then play out over the next 12 – 24 months. If it doesn’t transpire this earnings season then I will watch each earnings season forward because a bullish run should occur in this stock based on the time cycle structure of the weekly TerraForm chart.

The most likely scenario I have charted below. The two yellow lines are the expected bullish swing trade channel and the red circle is the price target and date that the price target comes in. If the channel does not transpire then simply move the channel over to the next earnings period reporting and watch if the trend transpires at that juncture.

TerraForm Power uses 80% to 85% of its cash flow to pay a dividend, which has a current yield of 6.7%, with the additional funds going to pay down debt or fund growth projects. Long term, management aims to grow the dividend by 5% to 8% annually, which is a conservative target, and could be done with organic growth for the foreseeable future.

Investors who don’t know where to turn in energy today should consider yieldcos like TerraForm Power. The company is stable, pays a great dividend, and avoids a lot of the commodity risks that will make the energy industry a volatile sector in 2019.

Below is the weekly chart for TerraForm going in to earnings in a week. The structure of this stock chart implies a significant move up in to May 20, 2020 (next year). If the move does not occur as the channel below is drawn then simply move the channel over to the next time TerrForm reports earnings.

Each horizontal Fibonacci resistance is an area to possibly trim and add above (or you can use the channel support to add and channel resistance to trim your position).

The key horizontal support and resistance marks are at 12.37, 16.76, 21.17 and 25.41 areas.

The key moving average is the 200 MA over head near term on the chart (pink).

It traded last at 12.59 during the regular session on Friday and was up .64% on the day.
