Compound Trading is a trading group active in day trading, swing trading and algorithmic model charting (black box).

Time stamped entries (in permanent archive) copied to this blog are direct live log chat from chat trade room as they occurred (random chat not applicable is deleted from transcript below but raw video footage is as it occurred – uncut). Chat trade room is recorded daily for trade archive (embedded below and available on our YouTube channel).

In addition to chat, this trade-room has live voice broadcast (that covers in detail what indicators we are looking for in and out off each trade. Typically at market open and for chart review during lunch hour at minimum) and has live chart screen sharing right from our monitors. At times guest traders and associate traders will screen share charting and/or voice broadcast.

Monday was our open house day – it was a great day. Lots of plays and learning scenarios for early traders. A review of the room footage below would be worth it – or at minimum the mid day trade set up review.

$LOXO, $EVI, $CLSN, $NAKD were big momos that members got in today’s session (I learned about in after market discussions), $CLSN I got a small win in for just over 300.00 and lost 80.00 in $VHC so I was up only 220.00 on momos on the day but my swings are continuing to bank hard as are the algorithm trades (PL released in next few days in advance of 24 hour oil trading room). The $SPY and OIL algos are hitting their targets etc and the others are doing well also. So all in all things are rolling along well. Been a good year.

My apologies our post market trading results last two weeks have been sporadically posted but that will change now as our oil room prep is ready.

I do trade morning momo stocks, but I do avoid risk – so often I avoid the first 30 minutes (gap and go) and trade momentum stocks later in the day after the wash-out looking for a snap-back. Intro:

Compound Trading is a trading group active in day trading, swing trading and algorithmic model charting (black box).

Time stamped entries (in permanent archive) copied to this blog are direct live log chat from chat trade room as they occurred (random chat not applicable is deleted from transcript below but raw video footage is as it occurred – uncut). Got a decent momentum play first thing in the morning on $IDXG for about a 600.00 win and then later played it again only to have an intra-day 8-K offering slam it. So I was red on day by about 1200.00. One of my bigger losses on year so far. I got so used to winning I forgot what it was like to take a loss. Now, on my accounts very small relative but still sucks. A good reminder to always set stops, even on smaller entries. But this does highlight the need to keep your risk management and sizing in check.

The opening video today with the $IDXG momentum trade was an awesome training / learn how-to trade stocks type video on technical set-ups and indicators on gap and go momentum stocks for new and even some more advanced traders (I had a few message me about it and I was surprised it was valuable for them too).

I say that because I talk to members and they tell me when they enter and exit even if they don’t publish publicly etc and there were some massive wins I MEAN MASSIVE – one win was over 50,000.00 on that one daytrade. They held right from open all the way to the end of the day. I’ve identified five members that are up over 200% so far this year!!! Way outperforming myself at about 50% YTD.

$CLBI up 141% Members is the room have a homerun on this today. I missed ha. They held right from open. Nice play.

On the OTC side my $LIGA call was playing out well.

Also on top of $USOIL, $WTI intensely of course because I am in $DWT and Gold $GLD because I am in 1/5 small position in $DUST and $XIV, $VIX, $SPX, $SPY play getting interesting to me so watching very closely.

Introduction:

My perspective of the markets can be summarized as go long when you can until it breaks (and I do believe there is a break on the horizon but it doesn’t do you any good to wait around for corrections). The “it can gap down” philosophy has not been on the winning side historically. So we swing trade with managed risk with stops and proper discipline.

Understanding what the simple indicators are for entry and exit in your trading position in a swing trade is critical – proper entries and exits can not only increase your win rate but also significantly impact your personal investment portfolio return on investment, thus a critical discipline to at least become moderately familiar. The buy and hold concept has served investors moderately well for some time, but even so, they could have do so much better with very little time invested toward the discipline of simple charting indicators.

This one indicator, if used in this way, more predictable than almost any. Stoch RSI trending down and price trending up on a daily. Oh my.

It’s hard to beat performance a trader can achieve that knows how these indicators function. There’s hundreds of idiosyncrasies #tradingedge

I closed my $PLUG overnight swing that worked well, took a small papervut on $ETRM, had a mid afternoon $XIV trade go well and entered $DWT long 1/5 sizing based on @epicthealgo signals. Over noon hour we reviewed a number of charts such as Gold, Miner’s, Oil and various equities.

Momentum plays on the day –

$PLUG DIdn’t get intra-day top, but a scalp off overnight hold nonetheless. $PLUG trade video below.

We have been warning folks (as a result of algorithm anomalies picked up) for sometime about significant resistance not far above in Oil and SPY so it will be interesting to see if we get through it. Here’s just some of the posts. The oil resistance cluster is much larger than the one identified on $SPY.

Last week I was range bound to 1500.00 a day (really choppy) until Thursday got better around +2500.00 then Friday was flat and even took a small cut and Monday took a small razor cut at open and took a long position in $PLUG at EOD, Was looking at a long in $UUP (surrounding Yellen report) but didn’t, and I’m looking closely at an Oil and Gold / Miner’s short possibility. Swing trades are doing well of course because they are more consistently controlled (wider time frames with simple charting entries and exits do that).
