Compound Trading is a trading group active in day trading, swing trading and algorithmic model charting (black box).

Spiegel not Speegell: There’s a program you can download at download.com called Advanced System Care. When you download it at the top right of your screen there’s a RAM cleaner that releases all the excess RAM so your system and the chart lag can be cleared up.
Spiegel not Speegell: So will gold have it’s own 24 hour EPIC trade room and maybe forex too?
Sartaj: So keep in mind, since you mentioned it a bit earlier, each equity has its own algorithm. EPIC is specific to oil, and ROSIE is the one specific to gold. Right now, we don’t have plans for 24-hour gold trading room until oik’s is rolled out

Sartaj: No problem. Likewise, we don’t use EPIC or any of the other algorithms to target stock picks (e.g. low float, OTC, etc.)
Sartaj: But that video I sent does give you an idea of the disciplines that are used to generate those models
Spiegel not Speegell: Will you guys be selling wheelbarrows to hold all the money we’ll make trading oil?
Sartaj: so while we don’t focus so much on writing scanner scripts and such at the moment, the basis for the modeling is the same

Sartaj: It’s also worth noting that you don’t want to overfit your data model. Make sure that your tops and bottoms are confirmed first… use more than just a couple of points when you’re applying your trend lines on the chart

OILK: The reason you don’t see a lot of losng in this group is we trade predictable set ups. Sure Sykes type have set ups but those type of set ups arent easily reproducable – its hard for others to do it without blowing up their accounts in the learning process – we trade predictability

Curt M: Well they’ll hold $SPY up if they have to and oil may come off to 200 day but the rumors will start and we’ll go for another while. It’s all about trying to get oil through the resistance.

Got a decent momentum play first thing in the morning on $IDXG for about a 600.00 win and then later played it again only to have an intra-day 8-K offering slam it. So I was red on day by about 1200.00. One of my bigger losses on year so far. I got so used to winning I forgot what it was like to take a loss. Now, on my accounts very small relative but still sucks. A good reminder to always set stops, even on smaller entries. But this does highlight the need to keep your risk management and sizing in check.

The opening video today with the $IDXG momentum trade was an awesome training / learn how-to trade stocks type video on technical set-ups and indicators on gap and go momentum stocks for new and even some more advanced traders (I had a few message me about it and I was surprised it was valuable for them too).

And our MEMBERS HIT $CBLI OUT OF THE PARK!!! I say that because I talk to members and they tell me when they enter and exit even if they don’t publish publicly etc and there were some massive wins I MEAN MASSIVE – one win was over 50,000.00 on that one daytrade. They held right from open all the way to the end of the day. I’ve identified five members that are up over 200% so far this year!!! Way outperforming myself at about 50% YTD.

So yes, while they may be attractive, it’s not an excuse to discard your own sense of risk management, what kind of positions you’d like to take, etc.

Premarket was in $OCRX $STAF $EYES $AAOI $TVIA and then on the day it was $NVET, $CALI, $STRM, $VSTM and a few others. I didn’t trade any day-trades but did some Swing Trading management on that platform.

On the OTC side my $LIGA call was playing out well.

Also on top of $USOIL, $WTI intensely of course because I am in $DWT and Gold $GLD because I am in 1/5 small position in $DUST and $XIV, $VIX, $SPX, $SPY play getting interesting to me so watching very closely.

I closed my $PLUG overnight swing that worked well, took a small papervut on $ETRM, had a mid afternoon $XIV trade go well and entered $DWT long 1/5 sizing based on @epicthealgo signals. Over noon hour we reviewed a number of charts such as Gold, Miner’s, Oil and various equities.

We have been warning folks (as a result of algorithm anomalies picked up) for sometime about significant resistance not far above in Oil and SPY so it will be interesting to see if we get through it. Here’s just some of the posts. The oil resistance cluster is much larger than the one identified on $SPY.

Last week I was range bound to 1500.00 a day (really choppy) until Thursday got better around +2500.00 then Friday was flat and even took a small cut and Monday took a small razor cut at open and took a long position in $PLUG at EOD, Was looking at a long in $UUP (surrounding Yellen report) but didn’t, and I’m looking closely at an Oil and Gold / Miner’s short possibility. Swing trades are doing well of course because they are more consistently controlled (wider time frames with simple charting entries and exits do that).

We have been warning folks (as a result of algorithm anomalies picked up) for sometime about significant resistance not far above in Oil and SPY so it will be interesting to see if we get through it.
